Stick 'em with the Pointy End

Our spear intensive this weekend was a huge success! We were nearly at capacity for students who all came to learn how to wield a spear, a weapon many of us had never picked up before. Jesse Kulla from Chicago Swordplay Guild came to teach us the common method and its plays, as well as a little insight into the dueling method.

At the end of the day we were able to put together everything we'd learned by playing a spear game in formations, which was made even better by the number of students we had participating. We formed 2 groups of 15, each in 3 rows, and learned about how to come forward to fill ranks when the person in front "died". It was a great day and we can't wait for the next intensive!
